Recently, China’s AI DeepSeek has received widespread attention in the technology circles of China and the United States, and is even considered the biggest “dark horse” in the large model industry. On foreign websites, DeepSeek is called the “mysterious oriental power” by many people.
On January 27, Apple App Store China’s free list showed that DeepSeek ranked first in China.

DeepSeek, the full name of which is Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd., was established on July 17, 2023. It is an innovative technology company that focuses on developing advanced large language models (LLMs) and related technologies.
According to DeepSeek, its latest model DeepSeek-R1 uses reinforcement learning technology on a large scale in the post-training stage, which greatly improves the model’s reasoning ability with only very little labeled data. In tasks such as mathematics, code, and natural language reasoning, the performance is comparable to the official version of OpenAIo1.
After the release of this model, it triggered discussions among many technology giants in the overseas AI circle. For example, JimFan, a senior research scientist at NVIDIA, publicly tweeted on his personal social platform: “We are at such a historical moment: a non-US company is continuing OpenAI’s original mission-to empower all mankind through truly open cutting-edge research. It seems unreasonable, but the most interesting endings are often the most likely to come true.”
